Deploy EBS CSI Driver¶
On EKS, you can create Persistent Volume Claims (PVCs) backed by EBS volumes.
Prior Kubernetes 1.23, you could use the gp2 storage class that was
available by default. In 1.23 or later EKS clusters you need to deploy the
Elastic Block Store (EBS) Container Storage Interface (CSI) driver in order to
use the gp2 storage class. Nevertheless, we recommend that you install this
driver regardless of the Kubernetes version in your cluster.
