Configure Syncing

This guide contains instructions to configure your Rok cluster, so that you can can sync your datasets and environments with other users. Since the syncing takes place in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network, the main goal of this guide is to expose the sync daemon that lives in your Rok cluster (codename “Thrower”) to the Rok Registry, and the other Rok clusters you share data with (peers).

Important

Rok uses strict SSL verification to communicate with Rok Registry. By default, it trusts some well known certificate authorities (CAs) to verify the SSL certificate Rok Registry uses. If you have exposed Rok Registry using a custom SSL certificate, signed by an unknown CA, follow the Trust Custom CA guide otherwise you will not be able to enable syncing for your cluster.
